Governor Jerry Brown Delivers Keynote Speech at Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony was held Monday night, wherein Gov. Jerry Brown delivered a keynote address to a packed room. In his passionate and inspiring address, Gov. Brown threatened "any and all obstacles that stand in the way" of solar energy and declared all-out war on Climate Change. Also admirable was San Francisco Mayor, Ed Lee’s pledge for San Francisco to have a 100% RPS. Following the Governor and the Mayor was CALSEIA’s very own, new executive director, Bernadette Del Chiaro, who gave an opening speech on California solar policy. Following Del Chiaro was Dr. Dan E. Arvizu, Director, National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and Prof. Dr. Eicke R. Weber, Director, Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE – both of whom also gave compelling opening remarks on the status of the industry and the potential for growth.
